Meet the Cast of "The Funeral Derangements"
THOMAS HOFBAUER AS
"THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR"
Tom was delighted to voice the character of Hilyerd Rutherfyrd Ferguston in this animated short film but this isn’t his first rodeo. Tom’s favorite stage roles are George in “Of Mice and Men”, Mister Robert in “Mister Roberts”, Papa / Mr. Sims in “The Nether”, and all 18 roles in the one-man play, "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol”.
His largest audience was for “Saved by the Bell, The College Years” in which he played a wrestling official in one episode - a promising beginning to a less-than-stellar Hollywood acting career.
He was also the founder, director and performer for the professional improv comedy troupe, “The Around the Bend Players” which had a successful 15 year run.
He has taken all his experience and turned it into a profession as an executive presentation coach and motivational speaker who offers funny, insightful, entertaining and informative speeches, workshops, and seminars that inform, energize, and excite all types of audiences.
He loved working on “The Funeral Derangements” with the entire creative team and is looking forward to seeing where this all leads.
DANA BENNINGFIELD AS
"THE MOTHER"
As a proud member of Actors Equity, Dana has tread those proverbial boards and has callouses and credits to show for it, having performed in numerous critically and not-so-critically acclaimed stage productions in New York and regional theatre. Her film and television credits range from a murderous wife on Discovery channel’s REDRUM series to a Russian prostitute in her short film, Bust, starring Dan Lauria. When not acting or doing voice-over for eccentric animated shorts, she enjoys writing. Her most recent short script, The Present, was a semi-finalist in Cinequest’s screenwriting contest.
She’s thrilled to be a part of The Funeral Derangements, especially since it has made for a wonderful reunion with her multi-talented friend, Tom Hofbauer, and introduced her to the incomparably twisted imagination that is Max Cuprys.
THOMAS KLEINERT AS
"THE FATHER"
Tom tells us he is “super excited to be a part of this wonderfully talented cast!” After years of performing all over the country with Random Acts, a murder mystery theater group, and as a member of the professional improv comedy troupe “The Around the Bend Players”, being able to voice a character in an animated film fulfills yet another career dream. He has also appeared in scores of commercials, industrials, and had a supporting role in the award-winning independent feature film, “In the Company of Strangers” which was produced and directed by the producer of “The Funeral Derangements”.
He is also an experienced stage performer with over 30 years experience. Some of his favorite roles are Tartuffe in “Tartuffe”, Van Helsing in "The Passion of Dracula”, Bottom in "A Midsummer Nights Dream”, King Henry VIII in “A Man for All Seasons”, Bellomy in “The Fantastiks”, and Tim in “Noises Off”.
Tom’s past voice work ranges from doing morning radio in New York, to narrating for U.S. Army tech manuals in addition his radio, commercial, and industrial film work.
CAROL ANN ERFORD AS
"LYDIA"
Carol Ann Erford has been performing for over 50 years in theatre, film, commercials, and as a voice actor. Her professional acting work includes stints with Westgate Dinner Theatre in Toledo, Ohio with performances in “Oklahoma” (Aunt Eller) and “Fiddler on the Roof” (Golda). She performed in the Broadway Series at the historic Valentine Theater in Toledo in “The Full Monty” (Jeannette). She also performed with Gramma Rose’s Dinner Theatre as “Gramma Rose” in an improvised audience interactive role as well as an actor in several productions.
Some of her favorite stage roles are Cissy in “Quartet”, Quiser in “Steel Magnolias” and Kate Jerome in “Broadway Bound”.
Her filmed work includes roles in industrial training films for Marco’s Pizza, Toledo Raceway Park, and in a principal role in a celebrated series of Better Business Bureau training films called “In Pursuit of Ethics”.
She loves to read and walk although not at the same time. Carol Ann is also a huge dog lover. Her participation in this animated short was a foregone conclusion. When we thought of the character Lydia, she was our first and only choice.
BILL QUINLAN AS "
THE W.W.T.F. ANNOUNCER"
Bill has directed over 50 plays and musicals across the U.S. Most recently, he directed “Assassins” by Stephen Sondheim and “A Christmas Carol”. On camera, he has appeared in the HBO series “OZ” and various independent films and industrials. On stage, Bill has appeared in over 150 productions nationally, including several world premieres and original cast albums from New York productions. Paul would like to thank Max and Tom for including him in a great project with an amazing cast.
AVERY KRUPP AS
"THE ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL"
We are proud to introduce Avery Krupp. Avery is young but makes up for her age with her enthusiasm.
Her first acting gig (at age three) saw her in a globally recognized safety film for an international elevator manufacturer. She has been taking dance and tumbling classes with “Mini Motions Dance School” for three years. She is also a budding gymnastic as well as basketball and volleyball star. But we were fortunate to land her as the little girl in our film and she knocked it out of the park.
